Original DeLorean Radio Manuals

DeLoreans came from the factory with one of three radios. While all were AM/FM stereo cassette, they were supplied by two different manufacturers.

All 1981 models, and a few hundred of the first 1982 models came with a Craig W460 radio. The earliest versions of these did not have an integrated clock in the cassette tape door display, while later ones did. The later ones are identifiable by the small "H" and "M" buttons (hours/minutes) used to set the clock.

The displays on the cassette tape doors often have missing segments due to faulty ribbon cables. These cables are no longer available. Faceplates - two different varieties - are available as new original stock (NOS) parts, but knobs are no longer available.

Most of the later 1982 and 1983 models came with an ASI radio, easily identifiable by the DMC logo on the cassette tape door. These also have an integrated clock in the display. The ASI faceplate and the radio nose piece are available as new original stock (NOS) parts, but knobs are no longer available.

Either radio is mounted in the center console in the Radio Mounting Bracket - over the years many owners have cut this bracket to accept a DIN-sized radio head unit. In order to "save" these parts from being modified, we have developed a DIN-sized bracket that is a bolt-in replacement for the factory part.
