Front end recall - what is it?

The DeLorean was subject to a couple factory recalls in the day, and arguably the most important is commonly referred to as the front end or front suspension recall. The Front End Recall Kit  P/N K109269 is still available and include new nuts for securing the lower ball joints and two strengthening brackets for the front frame extension along with installation hardware and instructions.
 
 
 
The photo below shows a car that has not had this recall performed.
 
 
The red arrows indicate where the strengthening brackets would be installed. The photo below shows a car with these brackets in place, a good indicator that the recall has been performed. Be sure to check that the ball joints have been pinned with cotter pins and converted to castellated nuts as well (not shown here).
